A Jovial Reunion
14 May 2026

James W attended a splendid informal London reunion event for his old school, the famous King's School, Gloucester. It was wonderful to catch up with and meet alumni of such a wide span of the school's life (but with the Great Portland Street venue far from the ghosts of the old school itself, no-one came from as far back as the foundation in 1541!)
This year King's is celebrating the formation of a new alliance, the Three Choirs Group, which will help pool resources and expertise strengthening three ancient public schools at the choir cathedrals of Gloucester, Worcester and Hereford. The network is already familiar to culture-lovers, as the Three Choirs Festival is the oldest (still-running) music festival in Europe, which started in Gloucester in 1715 and cycles between the cathedral cities.
Byrga Geniht has extensive research insights about the campuses of all three schools and cathedrals, and we would be delighted to contribute 'pro bono' to public appreciation of their heritage, but we would only be able to do this if resources permit. James W is proud to have been a competitive academic scholarship recipient during his time at King's, and in the continued spirit of that support, you can find our Kofi link below!
