The County Hotel, Chelmsford played host to the first ever Enchanted Winter Ball — a fundraiser for a new museum of the Essex witches. Head organiser Emma Wardall and her team put on a fabulous event, and we at BYRGA GENIHT were keen to match the occasion with our costumes for the event.

James W (right) took inspiration from the 2018 Met Gala, which saw guests sporting real papal vestments and jewels on loan from the Vatican. James came in a genuine crown from a saint's relics, matched with a wrapped skull look, and glittering gems.

James S (left) opted for a Green Man inspired outfit, with a twist of London Fashion Week. The look was made from real leaves and almost entirely recycled and re-purposed items, in the interest of sustainability. James was delighted to win the men's prize for best costume.

The event was a great success and raised enough money for the first phase of the museum. The event is expected to become a regular fixture, along with another in summer.

We look forward to this event going from strength to strength over the coming years, and for the museum to grow and prosper.
