This weekend, BYRGA GENIHT held an event for the benefit of the East Anglian Folklore Centre. A pop-up exhibition at The Minories, Imprints from Beyond: the Golden Age of Magic on Paper showed off some of our extensive collection of Old Master prints and rare books.
The theme was magical — Renaissance books of palmistry, astrology, herbalism etc., and art obsessed with the mysticism of the Bible, the Roman world, and European paganism. Our donation to the Folklore Centre was the digitisation of all the book illustrations for the purpose of merchandising.
Public response to the exhibition was extremely positive, and we had numerous donations for unlocking English culture for everyone.
