James and James spent time in Oxford this month, allowing them to visit a number of key sites in the city centre, and to connect with heritage stakeholders. The Bodleian Library, All Souls' College, the Sheldonian Theatre, the University Church, Christ Church Cathedral and Oxford Castle were all on this intense tour, before the two Jameses retired to Lady Margaret Hall for dinner and discussion.

A particularly important part of the day was visiting the font in Christ Church, which will feature in James W's lecture at Corpus Christi, Cambridge, in June (its significance was explained in a previous lecture, which you can access below). The opportunity to visit the shrine of the Anglo-Saxon Saint Frideswide was also important in relation to Byrga Geniht's ongoing support of Soulton Hall in the matter of respecting the memory of St Erkenwald there.
