Silverhand Estate

30 September 2025

No, it's not the south of France — we had a glorious visit to our favourite vineyard in the world, Silverhand Estate in Kent. They supplied our exhibition last month with their splendid English sparkling wine, and today we got to see where it comes from.

Taking its name from King Ludd, who lost a hand in battle and had a silver prosthetic made to replace it. This young winery has already made the list of the top 100 in the world, is fully organic, and is carbon-negative. Truly the best of British produce!

The vineyard sits easily in the valley around Luddesdown, and is absolutely beautiful. James S was definitely impressed by the site's environmental credentials, and the productivity is obvious to see at harvest time. We even had two fly-overs today, one from a spitfire practicing aerial stunts, and their resident feathered pest control.

Thanks to Caz and all the team for a fantastic day out.
