The Annual Lord Mayor's Event

Our consultant James was delighted to support the mayoralty of Alastair King at the annual Gresham College Lord Mayor's Event at the Guildhall in the City.

The Lord Mayor's speech gave a rousing manifesto for this mayoral year, focusing on the need for the City and for the UK to reach beyond our trademark cautious stability and to rediscover the animal spirits and mature acceptance of risk that characterised the great merchant builders of the City, such as Thomas Gresham, himself.

Following the speech, there was an excellent panel discussion and Q&A session. Everybody's mood in these times is one of trepidation, but Alastair's mission is to help our country find its courage, and to know its great worth. This is a mission in the financial, professional services, and shipping sectors, for which the Lord Mayor is the UK's official ambassador, which directly parallels our own mission at BYRGA GENIHT.
