Thank you to the Lord Mayor of London, Alastair King and his wife Florence for inviting us to Mansion House for a front-row view of this year's Lord Mayor's Show.

They say nobody does pageantry like the British, and nowhere does civic showmanship quite like the City of London!

It was a pleasure to see art and performance referencing both the deepest, most ancient mythology of the City, alongside a bold, vibrant and confident vision for the future.

We were particularly excited to see the eighteenth-century Lord Mayor's state coach, which, like the pediment of Mansion House under which we watched the show, was carved by a great figure in English country house design — Robert Taylor. Taylor is something of a hero to the firm, as we were recently instrumental in raising awareness of the heritage importance of Braxted Park, Taylor's first country house commission, helping protect this icon from planned quarrying encroachment.
