The Minories
8 February 2025

On Saturday 8 February we were excited to visit a vibrant art fair at the Minories, Colchester. This gallery is the oldest in Colchester, and is formed of two connected charities. The building and collection of East Anglian Art is owned by the Victor Batte-Lay Foundation. The spaces and creative programme are run by the We are the Minories charity. It is based at 75, High Street, very close to Colchester Castle which is also a Byrga Geniht firm favourite in Essex, housing archaeological collections that highlight the deep cultural continuities we research and promote.
At the fair we were delighted to catch up with Caroline Weidman, whose astounding and outstanding works in glass lampwork are truly inspiring. We have collaborated with Caroline on very important works for Byrga Geniht, and look forward to see where she goes next!
