This week James Wenn was delighted to attend The noble city: how do we shape future London?, a discussion with Matthew Lloyd, Patrick Lynch and Benedict Zucchi in memory of Joseph Rykwert. This event at London's Temple Bar, home to the Architects' Company, was all about the marriage of philosophy and practical planning that makes successful urban architecture. James was particularly inspired by Patrick Lynch's meditations on the collaborative nature of architecture through time. This connects with Byrga Geniht's mission to inform the building of a better future with the fullest possible understanding of our rich cultural inheritance.
UPDATE: The recording of the lecture is now available on YouTube, including James' question about how architecture is supporting the vision of the Lord Mayor, Alastair King, at 55:40.
